DAR-E-MEHR Dar e Mehr is a great place to learn Farsi and to
learn about Iran’s heritage. At
Dar e Mehr we learn the language of Farsi.
We also learn that how important it is to help keep our culture. At Dar e
Mehr we get to play with our friends and sometimes people bring snacks for
you to eat. You can also try out for plays and acts. You go to school and
the school is only two hours long and you get a break, but you learn a lot
of things and the teachers who teach you aren’t strict. There is a playground so if you don’t want to play
with other kids you can play at the playground. There is also a basketball
hoop, and there is grass so you can play football or tag. There also is a
volleyball court so while the kids are in class the parents can play
volleyball with each other. Inside
Dar e Mehr is a place were the people watch plays, or people talk about
Iran. There also is a kitchen so people can get a drink or get a snack. There
are “porsehs’’ at Dar e Mehr a “porseh” is held when somebody
died or has been dead for a few years. You can also get sedrapooshed which
means you become a true Zoroastrian and you have to follow some rules. We
also have celebrations there, the best celebration is Novrooz and Asho
Zartosht’s birthday. Another celebration is Sadeh which was the day fire
was found. We also have camps, which are a lot of fun, you also play lots
of games and you have so much fun. You also eat really good food. We also have a place were we pray. The boys wear white hats and the girls wear white scarves when they pray. There also is a donation box where people put their money for donation. I think you should come to Dar e Mehr next year it will be a lot of fun and you will learn lots of things. |
