Massiah Foundation Educational Scholarships

- Dr. Fariborz Maseeh, a world pioneer in MEMS technology and founder of “Dr. Samuel M. Jordan Center for Persian Studies” at UCI www.humanities.uci.edu/persianstudies and the recipient of 2006 Ellis Island Medal of Honor has provided a generous matching gift of US $10,000.00 through his Massiah Foundation www.massiah.com to 2 qualified Zoroastrian students in the US, based on their academic merits.
  This scholarship is named the “Massiah Foundation Educational Scholarships” and the recipients will be designated as Maseeh Scholars and awarded $5,000.00 towards their educational expenses. It is his hope that others will take this as a challenge to match his investment to create two others which may trigger an ongoing support for subsequent years. Matched scholarships may be named after other donors. The scholarships will be officially awarded in a special ceremony.
  The Massiah scholarships will be awarded to two (2) qualified, full-time Zoroastrian students who are studying in 12^th grade high school or are undergraduate or graduate students as of December 31^st 2006, majoring in Arts, Science or Engineering. Qualifications;
  - Admission or enrollment in one of the top accredited US universities.
  - Two letters of recommendations from professors
  - Academic excellence in Arts, Science or Engineering with a minimum of 3.5 cumulative GPA
  - Based on the student’s high school records for candidates with less than one year of college with minimum SAT of 2100,
  - On the student’s college records for students with more than one year of college.

Application; To apply for the scholarships, please send your transcripts with 2 letters of recommendation and a brief cover letter , including your contact information to the above address at your earliest convenience. We will contact those who are qualified. Apply as soon as you can.

Recognition;
The scholarships will be named the Massiah Scholarships and the recipient will be designated as Massiah Scholars.
Each student will be awarded $5,000.00 towards their educational expenses.
The award will be presented to the students in Spring - Fall in a special ceremony at California Zoroastrian Center in Westminster, California or any other similarly appropriate place.
Payments for educational expenses will be paid within 30 days of the award ceremony of scholars.
