Z-STAR!!
Please join me in
congratulating the new Z-STAR, Nahid Dashtaki!! This 19
year old sophomore at University of California, Irvine, is majoring in
biological sciences. Nahid
has always wanted to be a Veterinarian, but she also sees herself in some
sort of public occupation in the outdoors.
She’s not the type of person that sit in her cubicle from 8 a.m
to 5 p.m. She loves helping out – whether it be humans, or animals. Here is a quote from
Nahid “…I’m a sucker when it comes to cuteness, even lizards are
cute to me.” Besides
helping out the animal kingdom, Nahid’s hobbies include reading,
dancing, traveling, and especially the “dramatic arts”.
She loves to sing because she says she always has a tune going
through her head! But she also humbly states “That doesn’t mean I can
sing though!”. Nahid
would love to learn how to do horseback riding, and to ski.
Talk about a girl that can to it all – or at least wants to!! What does Nahid do
to help out the Zoroastrian community?
Well, she was part of the Goruyeh Jashnah for about 3 years.
She also show’s off her dancing talent by performing for many of
the Zoroastrian functions. Actually,
not only does Nahid perform dances, but she also choreographs, and teaches
dancing to other Z-Youth. She
also takes Farsi classes at our Zoroastrian temple.
By being so involved in her community, she is motivating other
youth to get more involved in the community as well.
All in all, Nahid is one of the California Zoroastrian Center’s
biggest helpers. She is
practically always there to lend a hand. So, what message
does Ms. Nahid Dashtaki have to all the Z-Youth?
She says “….we are the future of this religion. So what we do
with it now, is how we pass it on to the next generation.”
Wow. Very true words. Congratulations,
Nahid, on being a Z-STAR!!
We wish you the best of luck in your future.
We also hope you will yet learn to do horseback riding and to ski!!
Thank you for having such a positive impact on the youth out there. If you would like to nominate a Z-Star, please
