Z Star ![]() Pouyan Azarshahri Manager: Fereshteh Dastyar |
I am proud to present yet another Z-Star, Pouyan Azarshahri!!
Pouyan is a 17 year old junior in high school, with a G.P.A
of...are you ready…4.3!! His top two choices for college are UCLA and
UCSD. I guess it’s safe to say that this Z-Youth has some brains!!
But it doesn’t just stop there. Pouyan shows appreciation and
dedication to the arts. He
has been playing the piano for over 3 ˝ years.
He has also taken up playing both the Santoor and Tonbak for a year
now. His specialty is playing
Persian music in all three musical instruments. Pouyan has shown a lot of dedication
to the California Zoroastrian Center.
He makes it a point to attend as many Zoroastrian functions as he
can. But he isn’t always just on the sidelines enjoying the
show….sometimes, he is the show!
Pouyan plays his instruments on stage for various events, bringing
smiles to the faces of everyone witnessing his talent. Pouyan also
performs dances on stage – he is part of a dance group called Bandari
Boys. Each year, for Tavalodeh Zartosht, the Bandari Boys perform a dance
to liven up the celebration. I asked Pouyan what his message is to
the Zoroastrian youth, and this is what he said: “Follow your dreams and
be an individual”. Well, it
seems like Pouyan is following his dreams, and he’s on his way to making
them come true!! And while interviewing Pouyan, he let me in on one dream
of his: to one day drive a Lamborghini Diablo! Read Pouyan's article, in our "Youth" or "Educations" article section. If anyone would like to nominate a Z-Star, please
email me at fereshteh@CaliforniaZoroastrianCenter.org
or fereshteh@nexgate.net
with your nominee’s name, telephone number, email address, and why you
believe your nominee is a Z-Star. Thank you for your participation. |
