I am proud to present
a new Z-Star, Siavash
Fooladian!! Let me first give
you a brief background on our new Z-Star.
Siavash Fooladian is 21 years old, and is currently a senior at
UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles).
He is majoring in both molecular biology and history, with strong
hopes of going to medical school to further his career. Let us take a look at some of the accomplishments
that have earned Siavash a Z-Star recognition. First, he is a Moobediar,
which means that he learns Zartoshti prayers, and attends ceremonies to
perform those prayers alongside Moobeds. Siavash is keeping the religion
alive by teaching the youth our Zartoshti religion in the San Fernando
Valley in Southern California. Siavash
also contributes to non-Zoroastrian communities by volunteering as a
mentor for inner-city kids, and helping with camps every summer for kids
at or below poverty levels. He
also volunteers in the operating room of the UCLA Hospital in Santa
Monica, and our Z-Star still finds time to do cancer research on campus. Siavash has a message to all the Zoroastrian youth
out there: “Be true to yourself. Know where your roots are from, because
in the long run, that is going to help you figure out who you are, and
where you are going to go.” Congratulations Siavash, on being the Z-Star!! Your dedication to the Zoroastrian religion and to the community is inspiring. Your Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds are certainly not going un-noticed. We wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors. Keep up the great work!! If anyone would like to nominate a Z-Star, please
email me at fereshteh@CaliforniaZoroastrianCenter.org
or fereshteh@nexgate.net
with your nominee’s name, telephone number, email address, and why you
believe your nominee is a Z-Star. Thank you for your participation. |
